This is a cool fort to explore. It's sort of an outdoor museum, and leashed dogs are welcome. There's a small parking area that was full when we arrived, so we had to park on a street about a quarter mile away. The fort offers great views of Marblehead Harbor. Some of the interior of the fort can be explored as well. The fort is small, but worth a visit if you are in town.

This was a very nice walk around the picturesque town of Marblehead. Our walk also included stops at Fort Sewall and Crocker Park. Some of the houses date back to the 1700's. There are a number of little shops as well, some of which allow "well-behaved" dogs inside, while others leave water bowls for passing dogs. This was a fun walk through a cute town.

This is a beach that sits on the town line of Marblehead and Swampscott. We checked out the Marblehead side of the beach first, and took a few photos. The pictures below are from the Marblehead portion, but be sure to read about our adventure on the Swampscott section.

This is a great scenic park, with wonderful views of the harbor. It's also known as "Lighthouse Point", and features a very odd looking lighthouse. The park is less than four acres, but filled with benches and pavilions, and a great spot to have a picnic. I imagine the small parking lot fills up quickly in the summer time. Dogs are allowed here. There are actually a couple spots here where they could get in the water, but we skipped that this time around. The dogs got their fill with that at one of our previous stops on this day. This was a nice way to end an eventful day of adventures.
