This is a walking trail that runs along side the Merrimack River in Downtown Lowell. We walked the portion of the trail that runs behind the U-Mass Lowell campus. The trail also passes a number of historic mills. Some of them are now apartments, while others are deteriorated and lie vacant. We walked about half the trail, as the western end of the trail continues beyond the college campus. On our way back, we made it into a loop by cutting through the campus.

There are segments of this park located throughout downtown Lowell. We visited the area by the Canal Walk, the Visitor's Center (which was closed), and the trolley museum.
