Kingston

Gray's Beach Park

Date visited: 2/19/2025

This is a small beach and park, meant only for residents of Kingston. A permit is required to park here. My research showed that this was not enforced in the off-season, but when we arrived the parking lot was gated closed. There are three other parking spots off the road, two of which are handicap spots. When we arrived, the one non-handicap spot and one of the handicap spots were taken. There is no street parking. We wound up parking at the cul-de-sac at the end of Bay Breeze Way. If you look on a map, it looks like this is a back entrance to the park, but there is a gate here, as well as a barbed wire fence. We had to walk a half mile around back up to Main Street and Howlands Lane to get to the park despite being parked right next it. Not only that, the sidewalk was not cleared of snow and ice in places, and Main Street is busy. To be honest, the beach and park isn't worth the effort. It's all pretty "blah" and the while dogs are allowed in the park, they aren't actually allowed on the beach. We wound up walking about a mile and a half back and forth and through the park.
