This place is bizarre. There's a trail here, that is part of the Kingston Point Rail Trail, but this trail would definitely be difficult for bikes. (There is another section of the rail trail in Downtown Kingston that we intended on visiting as well, but I couldn't find anywhere to park that didn't have a sign of some sort saying parking was only for blah blah blah business and violators would be towed.) Most of this section of trail alternates between stone dust and a rough gravel surface. It runs along side what looks like unused and abandoned train tracks. The thing is, the overgrown train tracks are still used by the Kingston Trolley Museum, that runs trolley rides to the park and back. We encountered the trolley a few times on our walk. Sections of the trail are very narrow, and you almost have to walk on the tracks to get through, which could be dangerous if the trolley was coming! Once the trail veers from the Hudson a bit, it goes by an art gallery that had a bubble machine blowing bubbles on to the trail. There are some small sculptures around this section of the trail. One of which is a sculpture of just a leg. It looks like the other leg and the rest of the body are missing, that is unless the artist wanted you to think that...who knows? There is also a park area here with a baseball field and a dog park that we did not visit. Speaking of dogs, there is a spot on the trail along the river where people bring their dogs to swim. One unleashed dog named Bailey decided to steal Mandy and Lexi's treats right out from under them while they were posing for a photo. No photo of that, as I was trying to make sure a dog fight didn't ensue. Mandy and Lexi are such good dogs that they just let him steal the treat. They knew they would get more!
