Downtown White River Junction

This was a short walk through downtown White River Junction, a village located within the town of Hartford. Speaking of Hartford, I wonder why Vermont has so many towns that have the same name as towns in Connecticut. Anyway, as for this walk, I thought there would be more to do here. The downtown area is small, which surprised me, since White River Junction is actually a control city on highway signs! The highlight was the old train being restored outside of the train station. There were a few shops in the small downtown area, but not much else here to see.

I've debated whether or not to include rest areas on these pages. I've added some in the past that were interesting. Like it or not, rest areas are part of our adventures, and I feel they're worth noting, especially when there is something unique about them that make them more than just a spot to go to the bathroom. This one had a nice sunflower garden, so we had to take a photo in front of it!
