Greenfield

Highland Park

Date visited: 6/22/2023

We ventured up to Greenfield beacuse the weather was better here. It was supposed to rain all over the place on this day, but the rain stayed away, and it was actually sunny up here. I found this park simply looking at Google Maps. The pond here is pretty lame and gross looking, but the series of trails here aren't too bad. There's a cool wooden staircase, which leads to another trail that was too steep and rocky for us to climb. We probably could have made it up, but getting down might have been impossible. We wound up hiking a sort of "Figure 8" loop for one and a half miles.

Downtown Greenfield

Date visited: 6/22/2023

This was a walk through Downtown Greenfield, the only actual city in Franklin County. They love their bees here. There are six bee statues throughout the city, and we took photos in front of three of them. Reverend Lorenzo L. Langstroth, the “Father of Modern Beekeeping” was from Greenfield. I guess he invented the first movable frame beehive.

Energy Park

Date visited: 6/22/2023

This is a small park located in Downtown Greenfield. They have concerts Thursday evenings in the summer here. There was a band playing when we arrived. We pretty much took pictures around the old train car, but didn't go much further into the park because I didn't want to distrub the people enjoying the concert.
