This was a fun two mile loop trail around the reservoir. The trail is well marked, shaded, and pretty easy. There were not many bugs, despite it being muggy. There is plenty of access to the reservoir, used mostly for fishing. There are connecting trails that lead to a whole network of other trails if you want to make your walk longer. It was a hot day, so we just stuck to the loop. I've been pretty bored with walks in the woods lately, but this one was worth doing, especially on a warm summer day. One thing, that has nothing to do with this trail. We tried to go to Dunn State Park afterward, also in Gardner. Parking there is $30 for out of state vehicles. That's absolutely ridiculous! We obviously didn't go, but this, along with the lack of open rest rooms at rest areas, is why Massachusetts is my least favorite state to visit!
