This is a nice series of trails that connect to Ashland Town Forest. About 1/4 of the loop was in Framingham, with the rest in Ashland (see that page for pictures from that section). The trails are generally well marked and maintained, and easy to follow, with helpful signs at each intersection that include a map of the property and tell you where you are. We started at the trail head on Salem End Road. We hiked portions of the red, yellow, and blue diamond blazed trails. The Framingham section featured an old junked car. There were a couple of steep hills, but they were short. Other than that, it was a fairly easy hike. Our hike was about a three miles total.

We finished the Natick section of the trail, and continued into Framingham via the bridge over Route 30. The Framingham section is about three quarters fo a mile long, and passes by the TJ-Maxx headquarters and Cochituate Brook Reservation, before ending at the corner of Concord and School Streets. This is a pretty typical rail trail.

We started our five mile walk around Framingham parks here. We parked near the playground, and after walking a bit down a paved path, we quickly crossed the street over to Cushing Memorial Park and the Sudbury Aqueduct Trail, but returned here to finish our loop. The uniqueness of this park is the trail across the land bridge that goes right through the middle of the pond. There's a building of some sort at the end of the trail, but it's fenced off. Swans and ducks populate the pond, and there are some great views. Mandy and Lexi got to cool off a bit as there was a couple of spots where the pond was accessible and not too mucky. This was a pretty place to take the dogs for a walk.

This is a town park, just across the street from Farm Pond Park. There's a very wide, paved walking trail that loops a mostly green, open area. There are plenty of benches, playgrounds, picnic areas, monuments and even a few gardens. The north end of the walking path also loops around a senior living facility. The park is well maintained, and gets plenty of traffic, even on a Monday afternoon. After completing the loop, we headed to the nearby Sudbury Aqueduct Trail to continue our adventure.

This was the northern section of the trail in Framingham, leading from Dudley Road to the Sudbury Reservoir across Winter Street. We arrived here after walking through Cushing Memorial Park. The trail itself is pretty much a straight path behind some houses, but the reservoir is pretty scenic. We took a few photos near the reservoir before returning the way we came, and heading back across the street to finish our adventure at Farm Pond Park.
