Evidently, there is a thing called the "Highpointers Club". It is an elite club of people who have climbed to the highest point in all 50 states. This is the highest point in Rhode Island. I only have 49 more to go I guess! Actually, there wasn't much of climb at all. The high point in Rhode Island is only 812 feet and it's just over the Connecticut border. There is a very short trail that leads from the trailhead on Rt. 101 to the highpoint. The trail itself is practically flat. Your car did all the work driving up the hill to get there! This must be the easiest state for the Highpointers! We signed the guest book at the high point. There are also some weird structures at the spot as well.

This is a short but sweet trail. It is very well maintained by the Foster Land Trust. It starts behind a cemetery on Ram Trail Road (hence the name of the trail), and runs for about a half mile before it reaches a river. It looks like there used to be a bridge of some sort, because you can see a trail continuing on the other side. But now it just ends, and the word "end" is even written on the tree. The land surrounding the land trust property is owned by Providence Water and is not open to visitors, but at least there is this space available to enjoy.

This is the site of the Foster Farmer's Market, on the corner of US-6 and RI-94. This time of year, there is a large, lighted Christmas Tree here. Since I had the Santa hats in the car, I thought maybe I could get a good picture of the dogs here. The idea was better than the execution. It's hard to tell that's a tree behind them when it's this dark.
