We stopped here to hike the Bish Bash Falls trail that leads to Bash Bish Falls, just across the border in Massachusetts. There is also a trail head in Massachusetts that is shorter, but much steeper. The one from New York is only 0.7 miles, with a gradual uphill climb on the way out. After visiting the falls, we walked a short section of the rail trail that runs through the park, and also explored the picnic area.

In order to get some extra steps, we hiked a short section of this bike trail, from the parking lot near the Copake Falls section of Taconic State Park, to Valley View Drive, where the trail just comes to an abrupt end. There's a crosswalk across the road, but nothing on the other side. I guess the trail continues a short ways down the street, but we turned around here and headed back.
