This very small park is also known as "Hail To The Sunrise Park". It is a tribute to the Native Americans who greeted the first settlers to the area. The bronze statue, created by Joseph Pollia, depicts a Mohawk warrior. We were here late in the day, and the sun was directly behind the statue, so it was hard to get a good photo. The warrior would face the sunrise in the morning, so the positioning makes sense, given the "Hail To The Sunrise" theme!

This is a small picnic area off the side of Route 2 in the eastern section of Charlemont. There is a short path that leads to the Deerfield River, where people can fish, wade or swim. It was hard to get photos here, because there was a group of people in the picnic area when we arrived, and also a family swimming in the river. I didn't see any trails or anything, but it's a nice place to just relax or go for a quick dip.
