This is another rail trail, constructed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. We've walked a
section of this trail before in
Sturbridge, but I don't think the two sections are
connected. The trail here ends abrubtly after nearly 3 miles
because the bridge is out. Unlike other rail trails, there are sections where there are two
trails that run in parallel. There
must have been two sets of tracks back in the day. This wasn't the most scenic trail and
there is limited shade. But we were here on an
unusually cool day, so the lack of shade didn't matter much. We walked an easy 6 miles here,
out and back.
