This is a pretty nice place to take the dogs. There is a picnic area and docks used for fishing. There is a place to rent kayaks, and a boat launch here as well. There are also a series of stone dust walking trails. The main trail, the Klara Sauer Trail, heads south and leads to the Dennings Point section of Hudson Highlands State Park. There are connecting trails with access to the river, and plenty of beachy spots along the way that are perfect for when the dogs want to cool off. As you can see, Mandy and Lexi are quite wet in some of the pictures. Including Dennings Point, we walked five miles here on a warm, and surprisingly sunny afternoon.

This is a completely different section of the park than the one we visitied previously in Philipstown. We arrived via the Klara Sauer Trail, starting at Long Dock Park. We continued toward Dennings Point via the Dennings Point Trail. The trail is part paved, and part stone dust, and heads through the woods leading out to the point. At the tip of the point, there are beachy areas with access to the river. The views are really great here, as this part of the Hudson is very scenic with the mountains and the hills in the distance. Once again, the dogs took the opportunity to cool off. There are other trails here we didn't explore, but with the two parks, we walked five miles anyway, which is enough for a warm sunny day.
