This was our first stop on our day trip to Hyannis. Dogs are allowed here between September 15th and May 14th. The waves are calm here, just the way Mandy & Lexi like it. The main part of the beach faces the open ocean, straight out to the area between Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. The other side of the beach faces Lewis Bay and the ports in Downtown Hyannis. We spent a little bit over an hour and half here, on a gorgeous spring day, before continuing to the next part of our Hyannis adventure.

This is the main tourist area in Hyannis around Main Street and the Town Hall. There are many great photo opportunities here. There's actually free parking and a public restroom located at the Town Hall parking lot. Even though it was a gorgeous day, it's still the off-season here, so the lot was half empty. We walked around Main Street, the Town Hall, and the Artist Shanties behind the town hall, before continuing to Michael K Aselton & Bismore Parks.

It wasn't a great weather day in the northeast, but I found some hazy sunshine on the Cape. This is a town beach with a main beach area, as well an Off-Road Vehicle section, and a number of trails. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trails, and on the ORV section of the beach year round, but only allowed on the main beach from September 16th through May 14th, so we made it with one day to spare! We started at the main beach, and headed east for about two miles before turning around and heading back. We checked out one of the trails, but decided to stick to the beach. There are mild waves here, but the beach itself isn't all that interesting. The entire stretch looked pretty much the same.
