We were actually headed to a place called Barnegat Light State Park on this day. We were 45 minutes away when I realized that it would only take five minutes longer to make it to Atlantic City, so we changed plans on the fly! It turned out to be the right move, since this was a very fun adventure! Dogs are allowed on both the beach and boardwalk from September 16th to the day before Memorial Day. This was the furthest south our adventures have taken us. It was an unseasonably warm and sunny Saturday afternoon, near 80 degrees inland, so I was a little concerned that there might be too many people and it would be hard to find parking. It was surprisingly not very crowded, and there was plenty of metered street parking available right near the beach and boardwalk. We covered about three miles of the strip, walking over six miles total. We alternated between the beach and boardwalk, so Mandy and Lexi stayed nice and cool by taking dips in the water. We also took brief detours to visit nearby Brighton Park and to take a couple photos in front of Caesars. Despite being the off-season, most of the places along the boardwalk were open. It was cool seeing all the various small shops, and the famous casinos along our walk. This was a great adventure, and a nice way to spend a summer-like Saturday in early October.

This was the beach portion of our Atlantic City Boardwalk and beach adventure. Like the boardwalk, dogs are allowed on the beach from September 16 to Memorial Day. There wasn't as many people on the beach as I expected on a warm sunny Saturday, but there was a surfer competition in progress when we arrived. It's cool seeing all of the iconic casinos in the background while walking the beach. This might not be the nicest beach along the Jersey Shore, but it's definitely one of the most unique.

This is a small park off the Atlantic City Boardwalk that features some war memorials.

This is one of the most iconic of the Atlantic City casinos, so while we were visiting the Atlantic City Beach and Boardwalk, we had to stop here and take some photos in front of the Caesar Horse Drawn Carriage statue.
